NMR Diagnostics S. Anna hospital
Donation to the hospital of Castelnovo né Monti
Diagnostic excellence, design and hospitality, flexibility and possibility to extend
The opportunity of the donation by the Couvier Boni foundation of a new NMR machine to the S. Anna hospital in Castelnuovo Monti required the extension of the diagnostic block that no longer had enough space for the new machine and supporting equipment. An expansion project was therefore studied to extend on the same floor, on the slope behind the building to maintain the service integration with the image diagnostic areas and the access and entrance points for patients and staff.
The project included the creation of a block built behind a micropyle barrier required for the excavation and at the same time to support the access walkways to the hospital and the car park. The characteristic and qualifying element of the project is a covering skylight looking up at the Pietra di Bismantova (a characteristic landmark plateau). The skylight allows the perpendicular illumination of the waiting area and the entrance corridor, guiding the pathway and making areas that would usually be gloomy and dark more sunny. The refined interior, with technical glass doors and walls and the external garden make the spaces elegant and pleasant.
