Hydroelectric water-flow plant on the state owned canal of the Enza River
Hydroelectric water-flow plant on the state owned canal of the Enza River in the Province of Reggio Emilia near the town of Carbonizzo. The location is the right bank of the Enza River from which the canal takes its water just upstream from the bridge of the SP513R provincial road.
The plant is linear and water-flow powered, built directly on the artificial canal without an increase in derived flow or its dispersion.
Indeed the plant discharges directly into the canal with an integrated structure that covers both the turbine supply canal and by-pass discharge one, sending the waters that have passed through the turbines back into the same canal downstream from the installation.
From an architectural point of view the plant is made up of a single rectangular volume with two large windows that give light to the internal area and covering in wooden glued laminated curved beams with final finishing in painted metal plates.
