Project for the completion of the Cisanello hospital in Pisa
Technological complex and second enhancement in Cisanello
High-level specialisation, integration of healthcare, research and training
In the scope of the feasibility study, which lead to the definition of the integrated University Hospital Complex Executive Plan in Cisanello in Pisa, the preliminary design of the main steps for completion of the new hospital, the new technological complex and the second hospital enhancement was drafted.
The first design had the entire complex in a functional barycentric block which included nuclear medicine and the new radiotherapy bunker, the new image diagnostics, the automatised clinical labs, the Core-Lab, pathological anatomy and the specialist research labs. This was to concentrate the resources and avoid widespread doubles. The second included the completion of clinical functions such as the neuroscience department, endocrinology, orthopedic and maternity and paediatrics. The project is set out in two modules with defined levels for the selective pathways which integrate all of the buildings.
