University hospital in Al Zawia in Libya
General extension and restructuring project
Efficiency and organisation for the needs of the population and staff training
The Al Zawia hospital in Libya is an important center located on the west coast. The project includes the extension and complete restructuring of the existing nucleus to create a modern university hospital with accommodation for 550, conceived and equipped according to the highest international standards.
The plan calls for the construction of a large extended block to host the most demanding technological emergency services with a helipad, image and laboratory diagnostics, an operating block with 8 theatres and 40 intensive therapy beds as well as a rotation system to start up restructuring.
Due to the high nativity rate, the maternity area will be extended with a new labour-delivery block complete with neonatal intensive therapy.
The architectural concept is distributive, which gives harmony to the global project, rationalising pathways and functions.
