Traversetolo by-pass
New road section by-passing the Pedemontana axis (road running parallel to the Apennine foothills)
Traffic and landscape, residential area by-pass, bridge and river adjustment
The external by-pass to the town of Traversetolo, along provincial road SP 513R, was created to reduce the traffic and pollution in town as well as allow traffic to flow better and increase road safety. This was also an opportunity to anticipate part of the by-pass for the “Pedemontana” axis, the road running parallel to the Apennine foothills to improve circulation between the provinces of Parma and Reggio Emilia.
The road follows a soft curving path that moves towards the hills of Vignale and Guardasone, nestled in a beautiful landscape with a simple, elegant bridge over the Termina River. The non-intrusive placement of the infrastructure in the area is completed by underpasses and turnings that guarantee the adjustment of the river section for water safety and local traffic and agriculture continuity.
