TEC – Waterway Terminal of Emilia Central

Design and work supervision with CAIRE-Progettazione for the creation of the TEC, the new waterway terminal of Emilia Central on the Po River made up of a 200 m river dock for commercial and tourist access, located near bend 22 between Boretto and Gualtieri in the province of Reggio Emilia.

The port infrastructure allows the docking of 2 European class V vessels with a weight of 2000 t and an operational capacity of 2500 t/day and 700000 t/year, thanks to 40000 m² of surface area. The structural solution of the work is very complex due to the considerable difference between the lowest navigable waters in low flow and the high flow levels.
On the river side there is a low service dock and empty cell transversals barriers which support the upper section giving an impression of lightness and limiting the visual impact on the river landscape.
