Harmony between living space and landscape, green space, furnishing and architecture
The new private residence was created on top of a hill near Canossa and the hills of Matilda of Tuscany, nestled in a vast park, which looks over the Po Valley to the Alps to the north and the slopes and peaks of the Apennines to the south.
The rectangular floor plan creates a compact volume, covered with a simple double-layer wooden roof which characterises the interior.
The large side windows and the external furnished areas, with a swimming pool, naturally extend the living space into the park in all directions, creating a sense of harmony for the inhabitants with the natural environment, according to the time of day and the passing of the seasons.
The choice of simple local materials, stone, cotto tiles and wood, and the garden layout with typical local characteristics place the project in the largest surrounding area of historical and natural safeguard of the lands of Canossa.
