Landslide adjustment in Sasso Marconi
Landslide adjustment in Sasso Marconi
The project was for the design and work supervision for the restoration of a section of municipal Via Tignano road, near the town of Sasso Marconi in the province of Bologna, which has been affected for a long time by hydrogeological instability that involves all of the northern slope of the area in the Bologna Apennines.
In particular the need was to reactivate a section of road of around 55 meters that was no longer useable because it had been interrupted by the landslide which had also isolated a few inhabited hamlets.
The planned solution, which was approved and implemented, included steel cages filled with rocks to support the new road foundation, along with drainage works inside the road itself to make the slope safe and avoid future slides.
