Heart & Oncology Institute – Medina
Design for the new specialist heart and oncology hospital in Medina
Design for the new specialist heart and oncology hospital in Medina
A preliminary design for a specialist heart and oncology hospital with the most modern diagnostic and healthcare technologies as an extension and reinforcement of the Medina National Hospital – HMG, Hamed Mutabagani Group, which has already undergone a general requalification project.
The new hospital department will contain patient rooms and specialist care, closely connected to the existing structure and activity next to which it will be built. The existing hospital has an emergency room and basic clinical diagnostic services.
The layout of the global concept will safeguard the exiting local traffic and distribution system and will highlight the project with reference to the transport system of the city heading to the historical and religious centre.
The new project wishes therefore also to communicate externally the technological and healthcare innovations that go from cardiac and vascular catheterization with electrophysiology and hemodynamics, to personalised care plans with biotechnologies for personalised and precision medicine.
The architectural structure, open and welcoming thanks to the receptive spaces, becomes shielded and protected in defined dynamic volumes for healthcare and hospitalisation activities. This guarantees both personal privacy and shielding from traffic and the sun which are both particularly intese most of the year.
This is a project that proposes a modern concept that respects the local traditional architecture in a city that holds so much importance for the Islamic religion worldwide. The idea is to offer the best possible care that is currently available on an international level.
