E. Franchini Hospital in Montecchio Emilia

Organisational and technological innovation, humanisation and reception, integration among systems and equipment, integration among art, nature and architecture

The objective of the project is to create a new and modern hospital with the most recent diagnostic and treatment methods, suitable standards and a pathway system that is rational and welcoming. With the extension inaugurated in 2008, the new entrance with atrium and main distributions, the new operating block, the physiotherapy sector and the birth and maternity ward were all created.

This then allowed the successive phases of the renovation of the existing blocks for the two departments with patient rooms and surgery and internal medicine. The project was managed by ATI, with Binini Partners as general work supervisor, with Studio Altieri, Studio Parenti and Studio Zanni. Particular care was paid to the humanisation, the light and the furnishing of public spaces as well as the integration between technology and structure, the continuity between the garden, the architecture and the works of art inside to give the building elegance and comfort.
