Design tender for a panoramic pier in Riccione, the “Green Pearl” of the Adriatic

The assignment was for the design of a panoramic pier in Riccione, a location that welcomes tens of thousands of tourists every year. The idea was to create an innovative and elegant structure that would be light and eco-friendly as a natural extension towards the sea of Viale Ceccarini the beating heart of Riccione.

The pier has a long promenade that extends from Piazza Roma towards the Adriatic Sea, resembling a pearl which has always been the symbol of this seaside town. It inevitably becomes the focal point of the project and the hub of the waterfront with its various services including restaurants, bars, shops and a panoramic terrace. In this way, the pier goes from being a place of passage to a place where people stop, since it is functionally equipped for their leisure. Finally, the access to the pier has been studies so that it is safe and convenient both from the sea and from the land.
