Binini Partners wins the design of the new Pezzani School in San Polo d’Enza (RE)

On Saturday 25 March at 11:00, in the council chamber of the Municipality of San Polo d’Enza (RE), the Mayor Franco Palù presented the preliminary project of the New Renzo Pezzani Primary School, signed by Binini Partners.

The project was the winner of the “Bando Futura”, the recent competition for the construction of 212 innovative schools, to be built with funds from the PNRR, which saw the participation of around 1,700 architects and engineers. Representing the firm were Eng. Tiziano Binini, Eng. Ed. Arch. Francesco De Benedittis and Dr. Matteo Binini.

The demolition and reconstruction project of the “Renzo Pezzani” Primary School is part of a consolidated urban context, in the immediate vicinity of the historic center of the town. The new project will replace the current headquarters, which was designed in the 1950s by one of the masters of Emilian rationalism, Arch. Pasquale Pattacini, already then a transparent and inclusive building around the splendid central atrium. The concept of proximity is fundamental in the development of the project proposal: the new building aims to become not only a sustainable and innovative school, but also a real hub for the town. The gymnasium and library, located in such a way as to have both direct access from inside the school and independent external controlled access, in fact allow the building to be used even after school hours, guaranteeing constant flows of access to the area , mixing cultural and sporting proposals. This distributive solution aims to contribute to the formation of a lively and attractive, dynamic and flexible architectural organism.

The design idea is based on the creation of a new school center looking towards the future, a place where students, but also parents and teachers, can feel at home.

A structure capable of satisfying the didactic spatial needs and educational expectations of families by supporting the teaching staff through comfortable environments capable of satisfying working needs.
